Freudian Slip: Our Nuclear Weapons Complex is a three-part “wake-up call” for the communities neighboring our nuclear weapons facilities: we must take action to secure site accountability, public safety, and environmental health. Part 1, Columbia’s Troubled Waters, provides new evidence that the Hanford nuclear site – the most contaminated place in North America – threatens the Columbia River’s fragile ecosystem and the sustainability of the local salmon population. Part 2, Early Warning: A Radioactive Rio Grande, shows the first evidence of low levels of radioactive waste – from the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico - leaking into the Rio Grande, the main source of water for millions of people. Part 3, Under a Cloud, presents evidence that the Savannah River Site in South Carolina had a recent, unreported radioactive fallout event. That fallout threatens human and environmental health. This video includes interviews with representatives from: Blue Ridge Environmental Defense League; Cascade Chapter of the Sierra Club; Columbia Riverkeeper; Concerned Citizens for Nuclear Safety; Hyde Park and Argon Park Improvement Committee; New Mexico Environment Department; and The RadioActivist Campaign. Release date: November 2003 Format: VHS The order form is available here. |
